Hockey: Indian women put up a solid show, hold Australia 1-1 in third test match

Hockey: India, Pakistan in the same pool for men's Jr Asia Cup

India and Pakistan are in Pool A along with Japan, Thailand and Chinese Taipei in the 10-team competition and will meet on May 27 in a group clash. Group B comprises South Korea, Malaysia, hosts Oman, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan, the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) has announced. Teams in the preliminary round will play on a round-robin basis in their respective pools with the top two finishers in each group qualifying for the semifinals, which will be played on May 31. The final will be played on June 1.

16-year-old Sunelita hails from Kukuda village in Sundargarh, which is the second largest and mineral-rich district of Odisha and also the home to several tribes with one thing common across villages - hockey. The governing body of Hockey in India has earlier announced Craig Fulton as the new chief coach for the men's hockey team. Hockey India also announced that former Japan women's hockey team head coach Anthony Farry will fill in the position of analytical coach of the Indian women's hockey team.

It was the first-ever World Championship win for Israel's women's team, who joined the international arena last year, reports Xinhua. Israel thus completed their games in the three-team group with a 1-3 win-loss record, while Bosnia are currently 1-2 in the tournament.
