FIH Pro League: India slip to second spot after loss to Great Britain

The victory in an entertaining encounter took Great Britain to the top of the Pro League table. They now have 22 points from nine matches, five outright wins and four draws and three shoot-out bonus points, while India slipped to second position with 19 points from 10 matches with five wins, two wins in shoot-outs and three defeats.

Hockey: India, Pakistan in the same pool for men's Jr Asia Cup

India and Pakistan are in Pool A along with Japan, Thailand and Chinese Taipei in the 10-team competition and will meet on May 27 in a group clash. Group B comprises South Korea, Malaysia, hosts Oman, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan, the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) has announced. Teams in the preliminary round will play on a round-robin basis in their respective pools with the top two finishers in each group qualifying for the semifinals, which will be played on May 31. The final will be played on June 1.

16-year-old Sunelita hails from Kukuda village in Sundargarh, which is the second largest and mineral-rich district of Odisha and also the home to several tribes with one thing common across villages - hockey. Notably, 90 percent of Odisha's hockey players come from Sundargarh, so, it was pretty natural for Sunelita to pick up the hockey stick and she did the same at the age of eight.
