India's men and women teams get favourable draw for inaugural Hockey5s World Cup next year

In all, 16 men’s and women’s teams from around the world will be vying to become the first-ever Hockey5s World Champions when the World Cup gets underway from January 24-31, 2024, in Muscat, Oman, the FIH said in a release on Sunday.  Both the Indian men's and women's teams qualified by winning the AHF Hockey 5s Asia Cup, which was the qualifying event, at Salalah.
India defeat Malaysia in semis, sets up final showdown against Pakistan

The Indian Team confirmed their spot after a comprehensive 10-4 win over Malaysia in the semifinal on Saturday. Meanwhile, Pakistan reached the Final after defeating Oman 7-3 in the first Semi-Final. India's previous meeting against the opposition in the tournament in the Elite pool stage match had ended with Pakistan winning 5-4.

Maninder Singh scored in 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 9th, 15th, 20th, 24th, 25th and 29th minutes of the match. Mohammed Raheel (3', 4', 11', 12', 17', 26, 26'), Pawan Rajbhar (2', 6', 10', 13', 23'), Gurjot Singh (12', 20', 21', 27', 30'), Sukhvinder (4', 8', 16', 22'), captain Mandeep Mor (18', 23', 29'), and Jugraj Singh (15') were on target for India. For Japan, Masataka Kobori (29') scored the lone consolation in the match.
India overcome Thailand 5-4 in Women’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier

For India, Navjot Kaur (1’), Monika Dipi Toppo (1’,7’), Mahima Choudhary (20’) and Ajmina Kujur (30’) were on target. For Thailand, Piresram Anongnat (3’), Aunjai Natthakarn (10’, 14’) and Suwapat Konthong (19’) were on target.

Mahima Choudhary (7’, 30’), Akshata Dhekale (8’), Mariana Kujur (12’), Jyoti (23’), Monika Dipi Toppo (27’), and Ajmina Kujur (30’) were on target for India. For Japan, Risa Nakasechi (9’) scored the lone goal.
Indian women’s team defeats Malaysia 7-2 in Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier

India made an attacking start to their first match with fast-paced set-play, scoring in the third minute through Captain Navjot Kaur (3'). India's lead was doubled a minute later when Akshata Dhekale (4') scored a field goal. Wan Wan's (7') strike gave Malaysia a goal back. Malaysia equalised four minutes before halftime thanks to Aziz Zafirah's (11') flawless conversion of the Challenge Goal.
4 Nations Tournament: Clinical Indian junior women’s hockey team defeats Spain 2-1

Annu (21') and Sakshi Rana (47’) scored a goal each for India. For Spain, Lima Teresa (23’) was on target. The first quarter started with the action unfolding on both ends of the pitch. India got off the blocks with the intent to attack in the first quarter but solid defending by Spain kept the scores level.  
Indian Jr women’s hockey team fightback to secure 3-3 draw against England

Hina Bano (6'), Rutuja Dadaso Pisal (49’) and Mumtaz Khan (53’) scored a goal each for India. Le Huray Martha (4', 19’), and Alexander Beth (9') were on target for England. 
Indian jr women’s hockey team goes down against Germany 1-3 in 4-Nations Tournament

Young forward Mumtaz Khan (60') was the lone goal-scorer for India while Marie Hahn (9'), Carolin Seidel (37') and Lena Keller (58’) scored a goal each for Germany in the well-contested match.
