Kuldeep Yadav added to India squad for third ODI against Bangladesh; Rahul to captain in Rohit's absence

Yadav was initially named in India's Test squad for the two-match series against Bangladesh, starting from December 14. But with fast-bowlers Kuldeep Sen and Deepak Chahar ruled out due to injuries, he had to be called up for the third and final ODI against Bangladesh. Yadav had been in India's squad on tour of New Zealand, but did not get any match to play. He last played in an ODI against South Africa at New Delhi on October 11, picking 4/18 and got the Player of the Match award for playing a pivotal role in a 2-1 series victory for the hosts.
Uncapped Zakir Hasan earns maiden call-up to Bangladesh squad for first Test against India

Hasan, who is also a wicket-keeper, got the call-up to the Bangladesh Test squad after scoring a heroic 173 in the second innings of a four-day game to force a draw against India A at Cox's Bazar last week. The ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal continues to be on the sidelines due to a groin injury while Mosaddek Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman don't feature in the Test squad which will be captained by Shakib Al Hasan, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam being other spinners.

For the second time in as many matches, India's bowlers allowed Bangladesh's batting order to recover and get over the line to lose the series for the second successive time in the country after 2015. After Mehidy Hasan Miraz turned out to be India's nemesis for the second time in as many matches by scoring an unbeaten 83-ball century while veteran batter Mahmudullah made a fine 77 to carry Bangladesh to a respectable 271/7 in 50 overs from being 69/6 at one stage, their bowlers were clinical in reducing India to 65/4 in 18.3 overs.

Rohit suffered the injury in the second over when he attempted to take a catch at second slip of Anamul Haque off pacer Mohammed Siraj. Siraj pitched the length ball outside the off-stump and Haque hung his bat in the corridor without any footwork. The ball went to Rohit, who could not hold on to it as the ball dipped on him, despite trying to get both hands to it.
