On day four, Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took three wickets in the first hour of day four to leave India in spot of bother at 74/7. But Ashwin (42 not out), along with Shreyas Iyer (29 not out), defended solidly and brought out a flurry of boundaries in a magnificent 71-run partnership to take the visitors' over the line in a chase of 145 and secure a 2-0 series sweep.

The wicket-taking balls from Bangladesh were on straighter deliveries at a pitch which was offering huge assistance to spinners, making life difficult for India.

Bangladesh were reeling at 113/6 in their second innings. But Litton Das's counter-attacking 73 helped the hosts' get 118 runs off the last four wickets. He led a spirited fightback with crucial partnerships of 46 with Nurul Hasan, who made 31 and 60 with Taskin Ahmed, who was unbeaten on 31, as Bangladesh made 231 in 70.2 overs.

With the pitch offering help to pacers and spinners, India were on the money from the word go, maintaining pressure and not letting Bangladesh off the hook at all. Unadkat played his second Test match after his debut match in South Africa in 2010. The long gap of 12 years and 2 days makes this the longest interval between Test appearances for any player in the 21st century. The left-arm quick missed 118 Test matches in this time frame. Stand-in India captain K.L. Rahul revealed that left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat has replaced left-arm wrist-spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, in the playing eleven. "Hard decision on Kuldeep but we know Ashwin and Axar can find spin, and bring Jaydev in to cover all bases. Unfortunate decision for us to leave him (Kuldeep) out but it's an opportunity for Unadkat."

India won the first Test against Bangladesh by 188 runs at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram last week and are now aiming for a 2-0 series sweep. The visitors' are touring Bangladesh without regular skipper Rohit Sharma, who is unavailable due to an injured left thumb.
