Zampa came back into action for Australia in their opening clash against India at Chennai only in the 18th over. But KL Rahul took him for three fours in the opening over and from their onwards, he couldn’t play a decisive hand in the match as India won by six wickets, with his figures reading as 0-53 in eight overs.

The 36-year old Broad achieved the historic feat after taking the wicket of Australia's left-handed batter Travis Head. His England team-mate James Anderson, is the only other fast-bowler to have more than 600 Test wickets.

It means that majority of the players in the WTC final squad, including Cummins, haven't played a lot of competitive cricket since this year's Border-Gavaskar Trophy series ended in early March in India.
