The last 16 matches of BBL, including the play-offs and final, will be played after the last Test of India-Australia series ends in Brisbane on January 19. BBL regulars Moises Henriques (Sydney Sixers), Michael Neser (Adelaide Strikers), Mitchell Swepson (Brisbane Heat), James Pattinson and Marcus Harris (Melbourne Renegades) are part of Australia's Test squad for India Tests and have played little cricket over the past month.

The Aussies, who bowled India out for 326 and faced a lead of 131 runs on first innings, had a poor start, losing Joe Burns early to Umesh Yadav with just four on the board.

Australia head coach Justin Langer had refused to comment on what will happen when Warner returns and said that the selection matters would work out when they have to.

According to a report in The Sydney Morning Herald, Cricket Australia are mulling over the idea of taking the third Test to The Gabba and switching the fourth match of the series to the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Earlier, former Australia captain Steve Waugh had also warned Tim Paine's team to refrain from sledging Kohli as it could motivate the India skipper to do well. "Sledging is not going to worry Virat Kohli; it doesn't work against the great players and you're better off leaving those guys alone. I think any extra motivation will make them dig in more and get more runs. So, you're better off not saying much to him," Waugh had said in a video.

"Absolutely, I love talking to the greats that have been in Australian cricket and picking their brain. One of Australia's best captains and players, I would love to have a chat with AB," Carey is quoted as saying by 'The Sydney Morning Herald' after the third day's play.

Will Pucovski and David Warner, who seemed all set to open for Australia at the Adelaide Oval, have both been ruled out of the day-night Test which begins Thursday.

He will fly on the chartered flight that will carry fellow Test squad members Sean Abbott, Joe Burns, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris and Mitch Swepson, along with India's touring party. It leaves the 30-year-old just two full days in Adelaide to prepare for the day-night Test.

Sharma had a hamstring injury while he was playing for the Indian Premier League (IPL). He reportedly cleared the fitness test on Friday and will leave for Australia on the Weekend. However, an official statement in this matter is still awaited.

With India captain, Virat Kohli hinting on Tuesday that he may not play all of the all-format regulars like himself, Bumrah and Shami, in the second warm-up due to workload management, both Cameron Green and opener Joe Burns who are also part of Australia 'A' side, could be denied some important practice against India's frontline pace bowlers ahead of the four-match Test series.
