No Covid-19 death in Delhi, 14 other states and Union Territories in last 24 hours: Health Ministry
Meanwhile, seven states and UTs have not reported a single death in the last three weeks. The relief worthy development came on a day when the country logged the lowest new Covid-19 cases after a gap of seven months at 9,110.

With the latest addition, the cumulative number of healthcare and frontline workers vaccinated against Covid-19 has now reached 60,35,660 through 1,24,744 sessions held so far. Of these 54,12,270 are healthcare workers and the remaining 6,23,390 are frontline workers.
India ranks 3rd among nations with maximum Covid vaccination coverage
"As on 7th February 2021, till 8 a.m., a total of 57.75 lakh (57,75,322) beneficiaries have received the Covid-19 vaccine under the countrywide vaccination exercise. The cumulative vaccination coverage includes 53,04,546 healthcare workers and 4,70,776 frontline workers," the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.

For over a week, the country has recorded less than 15,000 new infections daily. Also, the daily Covid-19 death toll has been below the 200-mark for more than a month now. On January 19, India had reported 10,064 new cases, the lowest this year. Last year, the lowest 9,633 cases were recorded on June 3.

At a time when super speciality hospitals had to completely restrict their cancer care services, the treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi continued, albeit, with a significant drop. Dr Rakesh Garg, Additional Professor, Onco Anesthesia and palliative medicine, AIIMS, said that barring one or two weeks, the treatment of cancer patients continued in the hospital.
Centre agrees to give extra chance to UPSC aspirants who exhausted their last attempt
However, the Centre also made it clear that the relaxation for UPSC candidates shall be a one-time relaxation, and it should not be treated as a precedent. Notably, in January this year, the Centre had submitted before the court that another chance to last-attempters would be detrimental to the level playing field in the public examination system.

For over a week, the country has recorded less than 15,000 single-day cases. On January 19, India had reported 10,064 new cases, the lowest this year. Last year, the lowest 9,633 cases were recorded on June 3, 2020. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that there were 120 more Covid-19 fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the overall death toll to 1,54,823.
Pfizer withdraws application for Covid-19 vaccine in India
A Pfizer spokesperson said, "In pursuance of the Emergency Use Authorisation of its Covid-19 vaccine, Pfizer participated in the Subject Expert Committee meeting of the Drug Regulatory Authority of India on February 3. Based on the deliberations at the meeting and our understanding of additional information that the regulator may need, the company has decided to withdraw its application at this time."
Population exposed to Covid-19 could be thrice the tally: ICMR
As per the survey findings released on Thursday, over 21 per cent of the population, aged 10 years and above, showed evidence of past exposure to Covid-19. It noted that a large proportion of people are still vulnerable to the infection. The seroprevalence percentage translates to roughly 27.9 million people who were likely exposed to novel coronavirus in India, as per the ICMR serosurvey.
Indian Medical Association refutes Centre's data on doctor deaths, says 744 died of Covid-19
Minister of State for Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey had said that coronavirus has so far claimed the lives of 162 doctors, 107 nurses and 44 ASHA workers in the country. In a letter to Choubey, IMA President J.A. Jayalal wrote that the Centre's data is contrary to the one released by the association which contained the names of 744 doctors.
