Crisis averted with 5,000 cubic metres of oxygen supply: Sir Ganga Ram Hospital
"5,000 cubic metres of oxygen supply from a private vendor Kapil Enterprises reached sometime back after our maintenance team through the night struggled and arranged the necessary nozzle. This supply should last till today afternoon," Sir Ganga Ram hospital said in a statement on Wednesday morning.

Delhi on Tuesday reported 28,395 new Covid-19 cases, the highest single-day spike since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, while the test positivity rate rose to 32.82 per cent, according to the health bulletin issued by the Delhi government. As of now, Delhi has as many as 85,575 active cases of which 40,124 are in home isolation.

Need oxygen desperately to save lives, appeals Ganga Ram Hospital
"We need oxygen very badly. Have enough to last only seven to eight hours," hospital Chairman D.S. Rana told IANS. He said around 120 patients in the ICU are heavily dependent on oxygen. "If we don't get oxygen on time, then many will die," he warned. He said that the hospital administration has informed both the Centre and the state governments about shortage. "80 per cent of other patients are also dependent on oxygen," he added.
