Rahul to embark on padyatra from Kashmir to Kanyakumari
The yatra was part of discussion during the 'chintan shivir' of the party. It is likely to commence later this year in run-up for the general elections, sources said. Similar padyatra will be organised in each state by the state leaders to push pro-people agenda and highlight the "failures" of the government and plight of the people.

Sources in the Congress confirmed that its state unit chief D.K. Shivakumar and Opposition leader Siddaramaiah have already approached Priyanka Gandhi on this matter. They have reportedly explained to the Congress leader that her grandmother late Indira Gandhi and mother Sonia Gandhi had earlier contested elections from Karnataka and emerged victorious. While Indira Gandhi had contested from Chikkamagaluru in 1978, Sonia Gandhi contested from Ballari in 1999.

Sources within the group say that they will think over the matter during the event before any comment. He added that only sincere workers and fighters are guaranted a party ticket, seniority does not guarantee a ticket, no work no ticket.

CWC to meet to finalise agenda for Udaipur Chintan Shivir
Ahead of the meeting, party interim president Sonia Gandhi will meet all the convenors of the sub-groups to get a draft proposal prepared by the committees. The committees were formed to head discussions on politics, economy, farmers, social justice and youth affairs. The sub-groups have been finalising their reports to be discussed in the meeting.
