BJP cannot be defeated without Congress: Antony

The senior leader when asked said "They (Gandhis) are the powerhouse and guiding force in the party and represent the ideals and ideas of the Congress and have support of 99 percent of the Congress workers." The statement gains significance after talks with political strategist Prashant Kishor failed. Antony is close to the first family of the Congress and stressed that the party should not be underestimated and without the Congress the BJP can't be defeated.

Gujarat Congress President Hardik Patel, the face of the reservation movement of 2016-17 who joined the grand old party in 2019, is the latest in Gujarat to fuel talks of political somersault. Recently, Patel changed his WhatsApp profile picture from the Congress tricolour scarf to one with a saffron scarf. He even deleted Cogress from his WhatsApp bio.

Sources in the Congress say that Kishor wanted sweeping powers and a free hand in election management, but the party wanted a group of leaders to oversee the 2024 general elections. Several Congress leaders were reportedly of the opinion that no consultant should get the power to run the whole show. The sources also indicated that Rahul Gandhi was also not keen to give power to any one person.

The Congress on Tuesday officially announced that election Kishor will not be working for the party as he declined to be part of the empowered action group for the 2024 general elections. The declaration came a day after Sonia Gandhi had announced the constitution of the group. "I declined the generous offer of #Congress to join the party as part of the EAG & take responsibility for the elections," PK tweeted.

G-23's Azad, Hooda, Tewari get place in 'Chintan Shivir' committees

Hooda, a former Haryana Chief Minister, will be heading the committee formed for the farmers which is going to be prime focus of the party in the upcoming elections, while Azad, a former Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, has been appointed a member in the political matters committee. Former Union Ministers Sharma and Tewari will be members in the committee on economy, and Wasnik will be heading the committee on organisations.
Congress to hold 3-day 'Nav Sankalp Shivir' from May 13

The party said, "Congress President has decided to convene the Chintan Shivir of the Indian National Congress 'Nav Sankalp' in Udaipur on May 13th, 14th and May 15, 2022. About 400 Congressmen and women from every state will participate."
Sonia to form Empowered Action Group 2024; No clarity on PK

Addressing the conference of Revenue Service Council in Jaipur on Saturday, Gehlot said: "Rumours keep going on. You don't have to pay attention to them. Rumors say that the government is changing, the chief minister will change. But I am a person, who has been assigned as CM thrice by Sonia Gandhi. When I became the Chief Minister in 1998, I have authorized her since that time. My resignation (letter) is permanently with her (Sonia Gandhi)."
