In a nail-biting thriller, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Thursday trounced Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets. Both teams dominated with the bat from the start of their respective innings.  They converted almost every bowl into the boundary. The 200+ target was chased for the second time in this IPL season.

Adding another feather to his cap, Chennai Super Kings' all-rounder Dwayne Bravo on Thursday became the all-time highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League. The 38-year-old achieved the historic feat during the IPL 2022 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Bravo, who was tied with Malinga at the top spot with 170 wickets, dismissed Deepak Hooda in the 18th over of Lucknow's chase to break the former Mumbai Indians' bowler's record.

Lucknow Super Giants rode on blazing half-centuries by Evin Lewis (55 off 23 deliveries) and Quinton de Kock (61 off 45) to beat Chennai Super Kings by six wickets and register their first victory in the IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium, here on Thursday. Earlier, opener Robin Uthappa blasted a 25-ball 50 while local lad Shivam Dube struck a 30-ball 49 to prop up CSK to 210/7

Former Australia cricketer Matthew Hayden believes that four times Indian Premier League champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are capable of winning IPL 2022 and retaining the title despite a change in leadership. However, CSK succumbed to a six-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in the first match of this season, in which both their batting and bowling had failed to click the way they would have liked.
