IPL 2022, Day 6 Highlights: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) beat Chennai Super King (CSK) by 6 wickets

In a nail-biting thriller, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Thursday trounced Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets. Both teams dominated with the bat from the start of their respective innings.  They converted almost every bowl into the boundary. The 200+ target was chased for the second time in this IPL season.

1. LSG won the toss and elected to bowl first against CSK.

2. From the start Robin Uthappa played proper cricketing shots and and scored half-century. After his wicket fell, Moeen Ali and Shivam Dube started dominating the game. After their depparture, MS Dhoni started his innings with the big six and ended up with four. 

3. All bowlers of LSG proved expensive, except Ravi Bishnoi who took 2/24.

4. CSK scored 210/7 in its alloted 20 overs.  

5. Replying to CSK total,  LSG got a good start with its openers- KL Rahul and Quintin De Kock-  scoring 99 runs as part of opening partnersship. Rahul and De Kock lost their wickets in quick succession and after the fall of 3 wickets, Evin Lewis played the cameo of 55 runs off 23 deliveries and he got the support of young Ayush Badoni who made 19 runs off 9 deliveries.

6. LSG reached the target in 19.3 overs and won their first match in the IPL history.

7. Dwayne Bravo got one wicket in the match became the highest wicket-taker in IPL history with 171 wickets.

9. Brief scores: Chennai Super Kings 210/7 in 20 overs (Robin Uthappa 50, Moeen Ali 35, Shivam Dube 49; Bishnoi 2/24, Andrew Tye 2/41, Avesh Khan 2/38) lost to Lucknow Super Giants 211/4 in 19.3 overs (K.L Rahul 40, Quinton de Kock 61, Evin Lewis 55 not out; Dwaine Pretorius 2/31) by six wickets.
