The company tweeted on Tuesday, "ChatGPT for Android is now available for download in the US, India, Bangladesh, and Brazil!" "We plan to expand the rollout to additional countries over the next week." According to the app's description on Google Play Store, ChatGPT for Android "syncs your history across devices, and brings you the newest model improvements from OpenAI."

The ChatGPT for Android app is being launched a few months after the free iOS app brought the chatbot to iPhones. "Announcing ChatGPT for Android! The app will be rolling out to users next week, and you can pre-order in the Google Play Store starting today,"  the company said in a tweet.

"There is a ChatGPT settings placeholder and another one for selecting the ChatGPT model," the report said. Users will likely be able to utilise ChatGPT to summarise already-existing web pages, which could serve as a useful browser highlight feature. The report further mentioned that the Samsung Internet Browser app does not currently have a functioning ChatGPT integration.

The lawsuits alleged that OpenAI's ChatGPT and Meta's LLaMA (a set of large language models) were trained on illegally-acquired datasets containing their works. Their works were allegedly acquired from "shadow library" websites like Bibliotik, Library Genesis, Z-Library, and others, noting the books are "available in bulk via torrent systems," reports The Verge.

The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Zurich, delved into the capabilities of AI models, specifically focusing on GPT-3, to determine their potential risks and benefits in generating and disseminating (dis)information. The study, not peer-reviewed yet, involving 697 participants sought to evaluate whether individuals could differentiate between disinformation and accurate information presented in the form of tweets.

The study by investigators from Mass General Brigham in the US, suggests that large language models have the potential to assist decision-making for primary care doctors and referring providers in evaluating patients and ordering imaging tests for breast pain and breast cancer screenings.

Lawyer Steven A Schwartz, who sued Colombian airline Avianca after believing that citations given by ChatGPT are real while they were, in fact, bogus, has been fined $5,000 by US District Judge in Manhattan, P. Kevin Castel, reports CNBC. Along with Schwartz, the court also sanctioned and fined lawyer Peter LoDuca in the same incident.

According to researchers from Palo Alto Networks Unit 42, these malware variants emerged along with the release by OpenAI of GPT-3.5, followed by GPT-4, infecting victims interested in using the ChatGPT tool. Researchers have found two types of active malware -- one is a Meterpreter Trojan disguised as a "SuperGPT" app, and the other is a "ChatGPT" app that sends messages to premium-rate numbers in Thailand.
