Union minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday said that the Congress does not look beyond Gandhi family. Talking to media Thakur said that Gandhi family members have already seen the result of their efforts. "Their accounts are not opening and the deposits are being forfeited. First, Rahul was in command but the party was not able open its account in West Bengal. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra led the party in Uttar Pradesh but it lost the deposit and could win just two seats
BJP in Karnataka all set for cabinet rejig

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who is reaching New Delhi on Tuesday, is expected to take final instructions from the high command. The aspirants of cabinet positions from the state have also reached the national capital to rally support for space in the cabinet. According to sources in the BJP, the party is contemplating to fill four vacant cabinet berths as well as drop more than five cabinet ministers.

On Monday, Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Haryana, Depender Singh Hooda, submitted a notice in the Upper House highlighting Haryana's claim over Chandigarh. Hooda's notice under Rule 267 said, "The claim that Chandigarh was created as capital of Punjab is misleading. It's a violation of the Punjab Reorganisation Act of 1966." Not only the Congress, but the BJP too has opposed the move by AAP.

Those who took oath are Pabitra Margherita and Rwngwra Narzary from Assam, Jebi Mather Hisham, Sandosh Kumar and A. Rahim from Kerala and S. Phangnon Konyak from Nagaland. BJP's Konyak, who was elected unopposed to the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Nagaland, who became the first woman from the state to get a berth in the Parliament's Upper House. Konyak is also president of Nagaland BJP women wing.

BJP tally crosses 100-mark in Rajya Sabha

For the first time the BJP tally in the Rajya Sabha has crossed the 100-mark. The BJP also became the first party to achieve the feat after 1988. After the recent round of election for the Upper House of Parliament held on Thursday, the saffron party tally now stands at 101. The BJP achieved this feat after winning four seats out of 13 for which polls were held on Thursday.

The elections for the two Rajya Sabha seats in Assam and one in Tripura were held on Thursday. BJP nominee S. Phangnon Konyak was elected unopposed to the lone Rajya Sabha seat in Nagaland last Friday.
BJP MLA demands removal of Nitish Kumar as Bihar CM

After surgical strike on Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), BJP leaders are now directly targeting Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Vinay Bihari, a BJP MLA claimed that Nitish Kumar lost his fire that he was known for, during the first tenure in 2005.
