BJP leaders, including its Bihar chief Sanjay Jaiswal, were hinting that Sahani - with whom the party was at odds since his decision to contest the recent UP Assembly elections and attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath - was going to be axed after it lured away all the three VIP MLAs and inducted them into the party.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and National Vice President of the BJP, Vasundhara Raje on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and held discussion on organisational issues and party matters concerning the state. Raje's meeting with Modi took place separately at the Prime Minister's Office located in Parliament House.

JD-U leader and Building Construction Minister Ashok Chaudhary said: "During 2020 Assembly election, the seat distribution was done between the JD-U and the BJP. A day after all three MLAs of the Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) joined the BJP, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has given an indication that its doors are also shut for beleaguered party chief Mukesh Sahani. Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi said: "Whatever he sowed, he is reaping the same."

Raising the issue during the Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, the BJP lawmaker batted for simultaneous elections. He said that in 1967, the then government had dismissed many state governments and held fresh Assembly polls. "From then only, the nation got into an election mode with polls being held in different intervals throughout the year," he added. Continuous holding of elections, Vats said, also drains the administrative and national resources.

All three MLAs of Mukesh Sahani's Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) on Wednesday met Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Sinha and informed him that they have officially joined the BJP. Unnao BJP MLA Pankaj Gupta, two days ago, booked the cinema halls and offered free viewing of the film for his voters. The MLA, said his aides, had booked one theatre till March 31 so that people can see the film which is now being promoted by the BJP. Gupta has appealed to the people to watch the film which is a piece of history that had been kept hidden all these years.
