The newly elected Independent MLA Shankar Singh has announced his support to the Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) government in Bihar. Singh told reporters in Patna on Sunday that he was impressed with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's development work across the state during all these years.
Singh will meet the Chief Minister and other officials in a bid to pursue the issues of developing his constituency and expediting a host of developmental projects lying pending or going on in Rupauli.
The ruling JD(U) MLA won the recent bypoll to the Rupauli Assembly seat by defeating the JD(U) candidate, Kaladhar Mandal, by over 8,200 votes.
His induction will also boost JD(U)'s strength in the Bihar Assembly, which now has 47 MLAs.
The monsoon session of the Bihar Assembly is going to start on July 22, and Singh will take oath as an MLA.
