BCCI issues tender for two new IPL franchises

"The Governing Council of the IPL invites bids to acquire the right to own and operate 1 (one) of the 2 (two) new teams proposed to be introduced to take part in the Indian Premier League from the IPL 2022 season, through a tender process," the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement. The deadline for the purchase of tender document is October 5.

Earlier, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) general secretary Mubashir Usmani was quoted as saying that the board will speak to the Indian cricket board (BCCI) and the UAE government regarding allowing crowds back into the stands. To this, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal said that the BCCI would "love to have crowd" but not at the cost of players and peoples' safety.
Callous BCCI admits Pant, training assistant test positive & 3 others isolated

"Pant, who had not stayed in the team hotel during the break period, tested positive on July 8. He is asymptomatic and currently undergoing self-isolation at the place where he reported positive. He is being closely monitored by the BCCI medical team and is on his way to recovery. He will be able to join the squad in Durham (for the team camp) after returning two negative RT-PCR tests," said a statement from the BCCI.
BCCI willing to wait on decision to include 2 franchises for IPL 2022

"We are looking to have two franchises in next year's IPL but we will have to see the market and also assess the situation prevailing in the country. We can't guarantee a timeline because there are a lot of things we have to consider," said Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treasurer Arun Dhumal to IANS on Monday. There have been talks that Ahmedabad could host one of the franchises.
BCCI yet to confirm SL tour but broadcasters out with schedule

BCCI to meet on Saturday, may decide on IPL 2021's fate

The IPL 2021 was suspended this month due to Covid-19 cases inside the tournament's bio-secure environment. Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), this month issued a note to state bodies, calling for a special general meeting for 'Discussion on the upcoming cricket season in view of the pandemic situation prevailing in India'.
