IPL 2022: Kohli, Rohit, Dhoni, Pant retained; Rashid, Rahul & Hardik released ahead of mega auction

KL Rahul, Rashid Khan, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Kagiso Rabada are among the big names that haven't been retained by their franchises. The players -- will now be in the pool from which the two new IPL teams, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, will have up to three picks each (2 Indians, 1 foreign). Among foreign players, Glenn Maxwell, Jos Buttler, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and Anrich Nortje were retained.
IPL 2022 likely to begin on April 2 in Chennai: Report

According to a Cricbuzz report, fixtures have not been finalised but the BCCI has internally conveyed to the key stakeholders that the board is planning to start IPL 2022 on April 2 in Chennai. Since the 15th edition of the cash-rich league will have 10 teams and 74 games in all, the BCCI has discussed internally that the length of the season will be for over 60 days. As a result, the final could be played in the first weekend of June.
BCCI treasurer Dhumal dismisses reports about Team India's new diet plan

The reports earlier had claimed the national cricket board (BCCI) has banned beef and pork in any form in Team India's new diet regime. It was also reported that the players are only allowed to consume meat in only 'halal' form. However, the BCCI treasurer has denied all the reports, saying that the so-called diet plan has never been discussed and will not be enforced.

Rahul Dravid appointed as India head coach, to take charge from New Zealand series

Dravid will take over from Ravi Shastri, whose tenure comes to an end after the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The decision to appoint Dravid was taken by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), comprising of former India wicketkeeper Sulakshana Naik and former India pacer RP Singh. "It is an absolute honour to be appointed as the new Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team and I am really looking forward to this role. Under Mr Shastri, the team has done very well, and I hope to work with the team to take this forward." said Dravid in a statement.
BCCI president Ganguly quits position at ATK to avoid conflict of interest

Ganguly's move is seen as a bid to avoid conflict of interest as the RPSG group is now a part of the IPL bandwagon. "I have resigned," Ganguly said to Cricbuzz on Wednesday. As per the ATK Mohun Bagan FC's website, Ganguly's name is mentioned as a Director with Sanjiv Goenka as Chairman of the Board of Directors. While the conflict-of-interest controversy settles down, another one is taking shape with regards to CVC Capital.
IPL: RPSG Group bags Lucknow, CVC Capital gets Ahmedabad team

As per the initial reports, Lucknow and Ahmedabad teams, owned by the RP Sanjeev Goenka Group and CVC Capital respectively, will be the two new IPL franchises, to be part of the tournament from 2022. The mega auction for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2022, will be held later this year in December.
