Ace India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin revealed that former captain and all-rounder Kapil Dev had sent a small hand-written note and bouquet for surpassing his tally of 434 Test wickets. On Sunday, Ashwin went past Kapil Dev's 434 wickets to become the second highest wicket-taker for India in Test cricket. While Kapil Dev managed the feat in 131 Tests, Ashwin reached the mark in his 85th Test.

India cricketer Ajinkya Rahane took a trip down memory lane when he visited his alma mater SV Joshi High School in Dombivli, Mumbai reminiscing memories spent at the school. The 33-year-old batsman, who led the Indian team to the historic Test series triumph in Australia last year, took to social media on Wednesday and posted a video of his visit to the school. India to host South Africa for five T20Is in June, venues finalised
The BCCI has already confirmed that the IPL will be held in Mumbai and Pune from March 26 to May 29 and just about 10 days later, the T20 series against Proteas will begin. The Apex Council of the BCCI, which met on Wednesday decided on the schedule for the South Africa series and matches are likely to be held from June 9 to 19. During the meeting, the venues were also finalised and Cuttack, Vizag, Delhi, Rajkot and Chennai will host the matches, an Cricbuzz report said.
BCCI central contracts: Pujara, Rahane, Pandya demoted after underwhelming performances
The BCCI has four categories - A+ which have annual remuneration of Rs 7 crore while A, B and C categories are valued at Rs 5 crore, Rs 3 crore and Rs 1 crore respectively. Both Rahane and Pujara had produced underwhelming performances in the last season and were eventually dropped from the India's Test squad. As a result, they have been downgraded from Grade A to Grade B in the latest central contracts list.
