Over the last couple of days, social media footage showed many men, traders and drivers, lying in the desert in Chagai due to thirst and fatigue. The incident that happened in the Nokkundi area of Chagai district came to light a few days back during the month of Ramzan.

A convoy of Pakistani troops was targeted in the Bedok area along the Makran Coastal Highway on Sunday, Balochistan Post reported. The 653-kilometer highway links Karachi in Sindh to Gwadar in Balochistan. It also passes through the towns of Ormara and Pasni. The latest attack follows morale-sapping mega-strikes by BLA on two big Pakistani military camps of Panjgur and Noshki, leading to multiple casualties

Police in Balochistan have beaten up student protesters in Quetta who had staged a demonstration for their educational rights, Friday Times reported. Medical students in Quetta have been staging a demonstration for over 75 days, and began a hunger strike last week. In response to the incident, Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch, who led the "Gwadar ko haq do" (Give Rights to Gwadar) sit-in late last year, condemned the violence and shared a video of the alleged clash, calling for a stop to the abuse.

Naela Quadri, who is also the president of the World Baloch Women's Forum, was speaking at a Webinar, "Recent Developments in Balochistan", organised by the Centre for Policy and Development Studies, a think tank based out of Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.

The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) held a press conference in the Quetta Press Club on Friday where VBMP General Secretary Sammi Deen Baloch addressed journalists and the public on the recent alarming developments in Balochistan, Balochistan Post reported.

The Pakistan Foreign Office made it clear that there was strong evidence that India was involved in unrest in Balochistan, The News reported. Islamabad blamed New Delhi for its 'sinister campaign' to sabotage CPEC and also rejected the "unwarranted" and "preposterous" remarks it made on the Pakistan-China Joint statement of February 6, the report said.

"All those soldiers who sacrificed their lives have a special place in heaven. It is an honour for the Muslims when they lay down their lives for their country," Express Tribune reported Khan as saying while addressing the troops at Naushki army base camp on Tuesday. Khan said that the martyrs have the second-highest place after the Prophets.

In a statement on Saturday evening, the BLA told China: "to refrain from aiding Pakistan in looting Baloch resources and strengthening occupation of our motherland or else their interests will once again be at our target". The BLA statement also warned Pakistan's Punjab-dominated military from sending its children to Balochistan to fight wars.

Political and security analysts believe that the volatile situation in Afghanistan, coupled with foreign support to the terror groups from other neighbouring countries are among the main factors that behind regrouping and targeted assaults by separatist terror organisations.
