Addressing a gathering before flagging off the BJP's Parivartan Yatra from Dungarpur, he termed opposition bloc INDIA as "Ghamandiya Gathbandhan" and said it can got to any extent for vote bank politics.

Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Bill, 2023 which seeks to replace the IPC, the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita Bill, 2023 which seeks to replace the CrPC and the Bharatiya Sakshya Bill, 2023 which seeks to replace the Indian Evidence Act in the Lok Sabha on the last day of the monsoon session.

The Home Minister held a meeting with the six-member delegation of Manipur's Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF), led by its secretary Muan Tombing, in Delhi to discuss their demands, which include a separate state for the tribals.

He also appealed the all the ethnic groups to shun violence and look for a peaceful solution to the problem by talking to the central government.

The ITLF leaders claimed that since they could not travel to Imphal from Churachandpur due to the Meiteis threat, they had to go to Aizawl to board the New Delhi-bound flight.

He defended the Central government's move to bring the bill over-riding the Supreme Court's order, which empowers the Lt. Governor to decide on the transfers and postings of bureaucrats.

The padayatra named, 'En Mann, En Makkal' meaning 'My land, My people' will cover all the 234 Assembly constituencies of the state, and the BJP is expecting it to be a game changer for its fortunes in the state.

"Today, I wrote to the Opposition leaders of both houses, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury Ji of Lok Sabha, and Mallikarjun Kharge Ji of Rajya Sabha, appealing to them for their invaluable cooperation in the discussion of the Manipur issue," Shah wrote in a tweet, along with the copies of letter addressed to Kharge and Chowdhury.
