Adani-Hindenburg row: SEBI files observations on SC-appointed Expert Committee in apex court

In its application, the market regulator has sought "appropriate orders" from the apex court when the latter hears the case on Tuesday. Notably, all the offences under the SEBI Act (except offence under section 11C (6), SCRA Act and Depositories Act), the SEBI can initiate prosecution without any period of limitation.

The notice said: “In our listed portfolio, six of our companies - Ambuja, ACC, AWL, NDTV, APL and ATGL are purely domestic issuers and listed on the Indian exchanges. “Four of our portfolio companies - AGEL, ATL, APSEZ and AEL issue global capital market papers with only APSEZ being a corporate issuer.  AGEL has one instrument issued on corporate basis.  All of the other issues are restricted group issuances.

The tied-up facility will finance two data centres with an aggregate capacity of 67 MW that includes 'Chennai 1' campus with Phase 1 of 17 MW and Noida campus of 50 MW. Adani-Hindenburg row: SC hints at giving 3 more months to Sebi to complete probe

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) D.Y. Chandrachud and comprising justices P.S. Narasimha and J.B. Pardiwala said that it accepts the petitioners' point that Sebi cannot take indefinitely long period to complete its probe and "we are not going to give them six months, we give them three months", adding that it is not keen on accepting Sebi's request to grant six-month extension to complete the probe.

A spokesperson for Adani Group said Sebi is conducting an investigation into the allegations levelled by a foreign short-seller on January 25, 2023 and also into market activities before and after that date. "We understand that Sebi has approached the Supreme Court seeking more time to conclude its investigation. We have welcomed the investigation, which represents a fair opportunity for everyone to be heard and for all issues to be addressed.
