Salesforce's Chairman and CEO, Marc Benioff, extended a compelling offer on Tuesday, reaching out to any departing OpenAI researchers facing immigration complications due to recent shifts within the organization. Over 500 OpenAI team members considered leaving following the hiring of former CEO Sam Altman and ex-president Greg Brockman by Microsoft.
Benioff, in a dedicated post on a platform, expressed Salesforce's readiness to match the complete cash and equity OTE (open trade equity) of departing OpenAI staff affected by immigration changes. The goal is to swiftly onboard these talented individuals into Salesforce's Einstein Trusted AI research team, led by Silvio Savarese.
"Directly send me your CV to [email protected]. Einstein, our leading enterprise AI Platform, has reached a significant milestone, completing 1 trillion predictive and generative transactions this week! Be part of our Trusted AI Enterprise Revolution," Benioff urged in his message.
Earlier this year, Salesforce pledged $500 million to bolster investments in generative artificial intelligence (AI) startups. This substantial increase, previously set at $250 million, constitutes the Generative AI Fund. The initiative aims to back startups dedicated to developing responsible generative AI technologies.
Paul Drews, managing partner at Salesforce Ventures, emphasized how this investment will elevate the company's collaboration with entrepreneurs, expediting the creation of groundbreaking AI solutions tailored for enterprise needs. "Our Generative AI fund is poised to further propel AI's transformative impact," Drews remarked in June.
Additionally, Salesforce unveiled AI Cloud, an array of capabilities fine-tuned to deliver trustworthy, accessible, and real-time generative experiences across diverse applications and workflows. At the core of AI Cloud lies Einstein, the pioneering AI for CRM, orchestrating over one trillion weekly predictions across Salesforce's suite of applications.
