In the latest report released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Monday, it was revealed that Reliance Jio, India's leading telecom company, witnessed a significant surge in its mobile subscriber base. Adding a staggering 41.78 lakh new mobile subscribers in January 2024, Jio further solidified its dominant position in the market.

Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel, under the leadership of Sunil Mittal, also experienced growth in its wireless subscriber count, with an increase of 7.52 lakh subscribers during the same period. This brought Airtel's total mobile tally to 38.24 crore for the month of January.

However, Vodafone Idea faced continued challenges on the subscriber front, with a loss of 15.2 lakh wireless subscribers in January. As a result, the troubled telco's mobile subscriber base dwindled to 22.15 crore according to the TRAI data.

With these developments, Reliance Jio's mobile user base now stands at an impressive 46.39 crore, further cementing its dominance in the telecom sector.
