iQOO 7 Legend beats rivals with stunning design, solid specs
The company has unveiled two new smartphones -- iQOO 7 and iQOO 7 Legend. The iQOO 7 starts at Rs 31,990 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant, while the iQOO 7 Legend starts at Rs 39,990 for the same variant (it also has a 12GB+256GB model for Rs 43,990). iQOO 7 Legend comes in a single colour option that depicts the symbolic logo of BMW Motorsport.
Apple HomePod, Mini to support lossless audio via software update
Apple has developed its own lossless audio compression technology called Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC). In a new support document, the tech giant also revealed that Apple TV 4K will only support standard lossless audio at its launch. Apple Music will offer more than 20 million songs in lossless quality for free at the launch of ALAC technology in June that will reach over 75 million by the end of this year.
Samsung forecasts 7M foldable shipments for 2021: Report
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 alone is expected to sell in the 3 million unit range while the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 is expected to rack in an additional 4 million shipments, GSMArena, citing The Elec, reported on Friday. Both phones are expected to launch in July which would leave roughly 5 months for them to reach the aforementioned milestones, the report said.
Instagram plans to send 2FA codes on WhatsApp: Report
This feature will be optional and, if users don't feel safe, they can always enable the app authentication to generate 2FA codes, webainfo, citing developer and app analyst Alessandro Paluzzi, reported on Saturday. The feature is under development and it will be available in a future update on Instagram for Android and iOS.
Koo meets new intermediary guidelines ahead of May 25 deadline
The ministry has asked social media platform to abide by the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 else face action. Koo said it has close to 6 million downloads which makes it a major social media intermediary. Twitter to take 20% cut of your sales via Ticketed Spaces
Twitter said that the 20 per cent cut will cover the cost of transaction fees of online payments processing company Stripes (hosts will also need a Stripe account), reports The Verge. To begin with, the users in the US will be able to apply to host paid live audio rooms starting in the next couple of weeks. "Anyone who wants to charge has to have 1,000 followers, have hosted three spaces in the past 30 days, and be at least 18 years old," the report said on Friday.
