According to The Verge, as the medium continues to mature year after year, it continues to be a platform for developers to innovate. While not all of the games shown were brand new announcements, here are five games from the showcase that one can look forward to immersing themselves in soon.
Blue Origin auctions first ride on space tourism rocket for $28mn
People were bidding as high as $2.8 million for a 10-minute experience on the space tourism rocket, slated for launch on July 20. The month-long open-bidding phase for New Shepard's seat closed on June 10 and entered a live, online auction round on June 12. The bid price soared from $4.8 million to $28 million in under ten minutes, the Verge reported on Saturday.
Chrome OS moves to 4-week release schedule this year: Google
Google has finally announced that like Chrome browser, the Chrome OS will also also move to a four-week release schedule starting in the fourth quarter this year. The company earlier announced that Chrome will soon release a new milestone every 4 weeks, starting with Chrome 94 in Q3 of 2021.
'Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora' game is arriving in 2022
Releasing in 2022, 'Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora' is a first person, action-adventure experience developed by Massive Entertainment -- a Ubisoft studio, in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney. The game will be available exclusively on the new generation of consoles -PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, as well as Stadia, Amazon Luna, and Windows PC.
Lawsuit claims iPhone, other Apple devices infringe on wireless patents
The complaint, lodged in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, claims that Apple products -- like iPhones and iPads -- infringe on specific claims in 13 different patents owned by non-practicing entity Smart Mobile, LLC. Virtually all of the patents share a common specification and several of them are continuation-in-part of a patent application filed in 1999, AppleInsider reported.
Xiaomi likely to unveil flagship phone with under-display camera
According to GSMArena, the UWB is already featured in both Apple and Samsung's latest flagship devices. The Samsung SmartTag and Apple AirTag both use this technology for precise tracking using the Galaxy S21 and iPhone 12, respectively. Xiaomi could be planning to introduce UWB-compatible, trackable accessories, the report said.

Google's Android 12 Beta 2 feedback survey is now available
Like last month's form, the Beta 2 survey starts by asking users to rate their satisfaction with Android 12 Notification and Quick Settings and the Volume Panel. According to 9To5Google, the latter was slimmed down, while the former now adapts to wallpaper, among other layout changes.
Google team uses AI to create next-gen chips faster than humans
The new AI method utilises past experience to become better and faster at solving new instances of the problem. "Our method was used to design the next generation of Google's artificial intelligence (AI) accelerators, and has the potential to save thousands of hours of human effort for each new generation," the team wrote in a paper appeared in the scientific journal Nature.
