According to The Verge, this seems to mark a continued trend in people looking to make the jump from the free versions of YouTube and YouTube Music, even as more services are competing in the space. YouTube Music Premium costs $9.99 a month and lets users listen to and download ad-free music.

Google developing own CPUs for Chromebook laptops: Report

The US internet giant plans to roll out the CPUs for laptops and tablets, which run on the company's Chrome operating system, in around 2023, three sources with knowledge of the matter told Nikkei Asia. According to the report, Google is also ramping up its efforts to build mobile processors for its Pixel smartphones and other devices after announcing it will use in-house processor chips for the first time in its upcoming Pixel 6 series.
Apple simplifies payment rules for apps such as Netflix, Spotify

While the agreement was made with the JFTC, Apple will apply this change globally to all reader apps on the store. Reader apps provide previously purchased content or content subscriptions for digital magazines, newspapers, books, audio, music, and video. Apple said it is making easier for people to set up and manage their apps and services, "while protecting their privacy and maintaining their trust".
