Google infusing $50 mn in Facebook-backed Indian platform Meesho
Meesho has enabled over 13 million individual entrepreneurs to start their own online businesses with zero investment, bringing the benefits of e-commerce to more than 45 million customers in the country. According to a TechCrunch report, "Google has held discussions to invest over $50 million in Indian social commerce startup Meesho".
Ad revenue in Indian short video-app market logs 3x growth
According to the latest report released by homegrown consulting firm RedSeer Consulting, short-form content has grown 1.37 times in terms of monthly active user (MAU) and 1.1 times in terms of daily active users from June 2020 when Chinese app TikTok was banned in India. While global social media dominates in the top 50 cities, Indian social media platforms and short-form video platforms garner a major chunk of share.
Galaxy Watch4 series gets its first software update
