iMessage edit, unsend features in iOS 16 spark concerns about abuse
This year, at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2022, the tech giant announced a few new features coming to iMessage in iOS 16. According to AppleInsider, the first would be the ability to edit recently sent messages, allowing senders to fix typos they may not have noticed by the time they hit send. The second was the ability to "unsend" messages and delete them entirely from a conversation.
Microsoft Defender now available for individuals, families
The 'Microsoft Defender' app is now available to Microsoft 365 personal and family subscribers, across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. The company is including Defender for individuals for no additional charge to Microsoft 365 family and personal subscribers. Existing subscribers can download the app and sign-in with their personal Microsoft accounts.
Dogecoin crypto investor sues Elon Musk for $258 bn in US
A class-action lawsuit has been filed in a federal court in Manhattan, and the Dogecoin investor called for triple the damages of $86 billion, which is how much the plaintiff alleges has been lost by Dogecoin investors since Musk started tweeting about it, reports TechCrunch. Currently, Dogecoin cryptocurrency has tumbled from its high of nearly $0.74 to just over $0.05 in recent days.

Musk wants Twitter to be more like WeChat, to allow 'outrageous' comments
Musk told Twitter employees that the platform needs to become more like WeChat and TikTok if it wants to achieve his goal of reaching one billion users. "There's no WeChat equivalent outside of China. You basically live on WeChat in China. If we can recreate that with Twitter, we'll be a great success," he told Twitter staff via a virtual meeting late on Thursday.
Elon Musk hints layoffs at Twitter in future
When asked about the possibility of layoffs during an internal Q&A, Musk said "Right now costs exceed revenue," citing employees, The Verge reported. "That's not a great situation," he added. The question of layoffs has been top of mind for Twitter's more than 7,000 employees since Musk first said he wanted to buy the company. Meanwhile, he also said that employees doing "excellent" work should be allowed to continue working from home.
Indian cyber agency alerts users of multiple bugs in Adobe products
The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) on Thursday issued an advisory over multiple vulnerabilities in Adobe products that could help hackers infiltrate into computer systems. The bugs were reported in Adobe products like InDesign (along with earlier versions for Windows and macOS), InCopy, Illustrator, Bridge and Animate (and earlier versions for Windows and macOS).
Samsung launches Wallet to streamline digital keys, payment
To help users organise digital keys, boarding passes, identification cards and more in one application, South Korean tech giant Samsung on Thursday introduced a new platform -- Samsung Wallet. The company said that Samsung Wallet is protected by defence-grade security from Samsung Knox and takes advantage of an open Galaxy ecosystem by integrating with Samsung Blockchain Wallet to easily monitor cryptocurrencies and SmartThings to unlock doors.
Apple's M2 chip up to 20% faster than M1: Report
According to GizmoChina, the news arrives from a leaked benchmark on GeekBench. This benchmark was of the newly announced 13-inch MacBook Pro that was running on the M2. The chip had a clock speed of around 3.49GHz, which is higher than the 3.2GHz of the last-generation M1 chipset. The M2 managed to get a score of 1,919 points in single-core tests and 8,928 points in multi-core tests.
India to spend $30 bn to achieve independence on chip supply chain
Gourangalal Das, director-general of the India-Taipei Association which is the country's de-facto embassy in Taipei, told Nikkei Asia that the country would boost local production of chips as well as displays, advanced chemicals, networking and telecom equipment, batteries and electronics. "There is an increase in demand for semiconductors. By 2030, India semiconductor demand will attain $110 billion.
