Alternatives like Tumblr, Mastodon see meteoric rise amid shakeup at Twitter
According to latest data provided by Season Tower, Twitter installs climbed 21 per cent, while alternatives like Mastodon grew 657 per cent in the 12 days -- from October 27 through November 7 -- after the Twitter acquisition was finalised. Mastodon saw approximately 322,000 installs from US app stores in the 12 days, more than 100 times the 3,000 it saw in the prior period (October 15 through October 26).
Google Pixel 7a to feature 90Hz refresh rate, wireless charging
The device is likely to offer a 90Hz 1080p display, reports Android Authority. On an A-series smartphone, this refresh rate would be the highest ever. Another first feature is expected to be 5W wireless charging. Pixel 7a is likely to feature a new camera setup.

According to The Washington Post, researchers at the Center for Countering Digital Hate discovered that in the week following Musk's purchase of Twitter, the number of tweets containing one of several different racial slurs increased dramatically. The number of racial epithets used to attack Black people was more than 26,000, which is three times the average for 2022.
