Top US authors sue OpenAI, Meta over copyright infringement
The lawsuits alleged that OpenAI's ChatGPT and Meta's LLaMA (a set of large language models) were trained on illegally-acquired datasets containing their works. Their works were allegedly acquired from "shadow library" websites like Bibliotik, Library Genesis, Z-Library, and others, noting the books are "available in bulk via torrent systems," reports The Verge.
Apps on Google Play with 1.5 mn installs found sending sensitive data to China
"Our engine detected two spyware hiding on the Google Play Store and affecting up to 1.5 million users. Both applications are from the same developer, pose as file management applications and feature similar malicious behaviours," said cyber security company Pradeo.
