ChatGPT, a popular chatbot of OpenAI, faced disruption on Tuesday, and users across the globe — including Indians — could not load responses or view prompt results.
The company admitted that users are facing "elevated error rates and latency" in all its AI services and said an investigation had been initiated to identify the reason.
We are looking into this," the company said. Statistics showed that 88% of the Indian user complaints were about the chatbot not responding, 8% concerning issues with the mobile app and 3% issues with the API.
Downdetector, a monitoring platform, recorded an instant surge in reports about the outage.
Fed up and inquisitive, ChatGPT users went to X to try and find out what was going on.
"Everyone racing to X to see if ChatGPT is down for anyone else," one user shared.
"ChatGPT is down, which means I actually have to write out my own emails at work. Send prayers," another shared with humor.
