Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an incredible student, very interested not only in knowing more about artificial intelligence and chip technologies, but also in the democratization of it for the greater good of society as well as industry, Jensen Huang, Founder, President and CEO of graphics chip giant Nvidia has said.
After the visit to the CEOs' roundtable here along with PM Modi in the presence of his fellow tech leaders, Huang mentioned AI as a new industry which offers several manufacturing opportunities and he is looking forward to "partnering with India in a very deep way to make that possible".
"We are helping India gain access to our most advanced technologies.". We are going to partner with internet companies like digital transformation service provider Yotta Data Services and other internet companies to create the latest generation of AI supercomputers in India, said Nvidia CEO. Being underlined as third-largest startup economy, Nvidia CEO said the new generation of startups are based on AI and in order to achieve more, they have to have an AI infrastructure. We are partnering with startups, IITs and many companies in India. We are teaching students on how to upskill in this new world of AI, Huang added, revealing that AI really democratizes computing and this is India's moment to seize the opportunity.
He met the leaders of the technology industry in New York in a roundtable, anchored by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, School of Engineering. The tech roundtable was placed on four focus areas: AI and quantum; biotechnology and life sciences; computing, IT, and communication; and semiconductor technologies. He spoke of the economic revolution happening in India regarding electronics and information technology manufacturing, semiconductors, biotech, and green development.
He said that his government was keen on making India a global destination for semiconductor manufacturing. In a related development, Yotta Data Services announced last year a tie-up with Nvidia to deliver state-of-the-art GPU computing infrastructure and platforms for its Shakti Cloud platform. Infosys and Nvidia also announced a strategic expansion of their collaboration with the intention of supporting worldwide enterprises in driving productivity benefits with generative AI applications and solutions. Companies are also teaming up for the development of AI solutions in 5G, cyber-security, and energy transition.
