Elon Musk has unveiled ambitious plans for a significant update to the recommendation algorithm on X. This update is designed to enhance the algorithm's capability to identify smaller accounts and posts that may exist beyond the confines of popular networks.
The primary objective is to enable the algorithm to delve deeper into X accounts, identifying and promoting content from lesser-known profiles. Musk's vision is to broaden the platform's reach, ensuring that relevant accounts and posts, often overshadowed by more famous ones, receive increased visibility and recognition. This move aligns with Musk's commitment to fostering a more inclusive and diverse user experience on the X platform by giving a spotlight to a wider range of content creators and contributors.
“This will help surface smaller accounts and posts outside of your friend-follows network. As always, this will be made open source and undergo continuous improvement,” the X owner said in a post late on Friday.
“Critical feedback is always appreciated,” Musk added.
A Musk follower commented: “This should be good for a ton of smaller and mid sized accounts.”
The strategic update in the recommendation algorithm on X is anticipated to significantly benefit xAI's artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, Grok. This enhancement aims to contribute to Grok's growth and elevate its ability to generate more refined and improved responses, setting it apart from traditional GPT models.
Users can access the xAI 'Grok' AI assistant as part of the X Premium Plus subscription, priced at $16 per month through the web. Grok is uniquely crafted to provide answers infused with a touch of wit and a rebellious streak, distinguishing it from more conventional AI models. The integration of the enhanced recommendation algorithm is poised to elevate Grok's performance, offering users an even more engaging and dynamic conversational experience within the X ecosystem.

Meanwhile, ChatGPT creator Sam Altman shared a post taking a jibe at Grok, saying "GPTs can save a lot of effort".
Altman, in his post, revealed a snapshot of the most recent iteration of ChatGPT, showcasing its advanced capabilities that empower users to craft fully customized AI chatbots known as GPTs. This new functionality marks a significant evolution in the ChatGPT platform, providing users with the flexibility to tailor their AI interactions according to their specific needs and preferences. The introduction of fully customizable GPTs promises a more personalized and versatile experience, showcasing the continuous development and innovation within the realm of conversational AI.
