Tech giant Meta rolled out on Wednesday an advanced artificial intelligence AI assistant on all products in India such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and meta.ai. Tipped to change user experience with enrichment of day-to-day tasks and conversations on its apps, it would get a power boost from the most advanced 'Llama 3' large language model (LLM).
According to Meta, millions of users in India can now use Meta AI directly in their feeds, chats, and more. It allows users to undertake tasks, create content, and go very, very deep on topics without having to change apps. Initially launched at last year's 'Connect' event, Meta AI is now being rolled out in English across India.
It can apply Meta AI to many real-life situations. For instance, in WhatsApp group chats, one could ask for restaurants with good views that have vegan food. Moreover, people who want to practice exams can log into the web Meta AI and multiple-choice practice tests based on their needs.
Moreover, this enriches the experience in areas of trolling like that of Facebook. The user can interact with Meta AI right from the posts to get more knowledge about a particular topic. For example, if the user sees a post of the northern lights of Iceland, then one can ask when the aurora would most likely be visible.
On the other hand, Meta AI Assistant would mean a quantum leap to imbibe high-end AI functionality seamlessly into everyday social media interactions to increase user engagement and utility across its platforms here in India.
