Revenue for Q1 FY 2025 was at Rs 34,548 crore, including 12.8 per cent year-on-year growth for Jio Platforms Limited. Year-on-year EBITDA for the quarter was at Rs 14,638 crore, up 11.6 per cent.
The revenue growth was driven by strong subscriber additions in both mobile and home services. Robust revenue growth, combined with cost efficiencies, contributed to double-digit growth in EBITDA.
Higher depreciation was brought about by increased usage of the network as also additional gross block. Higher finance costs were attributed to increased leverage.
Jio extended its lead in the market with 8 million net subscribers added in 1QFY25. Its monthly churn rate stood at 1.7 per cent, even as the ARPU was at Rs 181.7, due to a mix of favourable subscribers. However, this promotional 5G traffic, given to subscribers on unlimited usage without any separate charges, had a denting impact on ARPU.
