London-based technology company Nothing announced Friday it sold 100,000 units of its sub-brand's inaugural smartphone, the CMF Phone 1, in just three hours across channels. The phone is manufactured in India.
Demand for the sales of the new CMF Phone 1 was very high, attesting to the reputation of Nothing, built around innovative technology and distinctive design, the statement added.
The company rolled out versions of the smartphone in the form of 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB, starting at Rs 15,999.
Other key device features include a 50MP rear camera, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G processor, a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display, a 5000 mAh battery, and a 16 MP front camera. It also has a refresh rate of 120 Hz to make the user interface smooth.
Nothing indicated that making the device in India is of a more strategic nature with regard to leveraging Indian capability in building robustly, further investments in the local economy, spurring innovation in technology, and creating jobs.
"What makes this significant is the brand respecting India to be an important market within their global strategy, as well as aligning with the 'Make in India' initiative," said the company.
Nothing further indicated that this move epitomizes its commitment to delivering high-quality, locally manufactured products to suit the unique tastes and needs of the Indian market while demonstrating one's capability in manufacturing innovative designs locally.
