Google on Wednesday published its ‘Year in Search 2021’ list, which showed what people searched the most this year. While the list included global search trends it also published nation-based regional trends too. To talk about India, searched trends that topped the list were - IPL, CoWin, ICC T20 World Cup, Shershaah etc. 20 years back the search engine started this concept and now like every year Google pulished its list in 2021 too. The 'Year in search' list like every other year showed what people looked the most across the world over on its search engine.
Google Search trends, India | Key points
1. Without any surprise, the overall top search trends in India were – Indian Premier League (IPL), CoWIN, ICC T20 World Cup, Euro Cup,Tokyo Olympics. And in the sphere of movies - Jai Bhim, Shershaah, Radhe, Bell Bottom and Eternals were searched for the most in the country.
2. In terms of news events, the Google list showed that Indians were most interested in the Tokyo Olympics, Afghanistan news, updates on black fungus, West Bengal elections and Tropical cyclone Tauktae.

3. Famous personalities who made the headlines this year such as Neeraj Chopra, Aryan Khan, and Shehnaaz Gill were the most searched for people on Google this year.
4. Other than this, the global search trends included ‘Australia vs India’, ‘India vs England’, and ‘IPL’.
5. While in the global news stories, Afghanistan, AMC stocks, and the Covid-19 vaccine was searched the most. Moreover , Aryan Khan secured a place in most-searched-for actors worldwide, along with personalities such as Alec Baldwin, Pete Davidson, Gina Carano, and Armie Hammer.
