Popular Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT experienced a global glitch on Tuesday, leaving many users, including those in India, unable to access the service or get responses.
OpenAI, the developer behind ChatGPT, said it was working on a fix.
‘We are continuing to work on a fix for this issue. We have identified the issue and mitigating,” said the company.
With over 100 million weekly users, the outage caused a stir on social media. "ChatGPT is down everywhere!" lamented one user. Another joked about their newfound inability to think without the AI's help.
In the meantime, OpenAI has formed a new safety and security committee led by its CEO Altman, Bret Taylor (Chair), Adam D’Angelo, and Nicole Seligman. Their first priority: strengthening OpenAI's safeguards.
