Kohli reached the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday morning. He went through a lot of group running and fielding exercises and even joined his Delhi teammates in some football touches.

The excitement within the Indian cricket fraternity is at a boiling point with a few key domestic returns having just taken place-including India captain Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Kohli and the rest of India stars making a comeback into domestic cricket fit right into the renewed emphasis of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on performance while playing for domestic teams forming a significant basis for international selection.

Kohli did not play for Delhi against Saurashtra in their last game as he had been nursing a neck injury; this is a good chance for Kohli to make an impact. His return to form is vital, especially after a lean patch in Test cricket, including struggles during India's Border-Gavaskar Trophy series defeat to Australia.

Despite the buzz around Kohli’s participation, fans may not be able to watch the match live, as there is no confirmation of telecast or live-streaming. The BCCI, however, has ensured additional security measures at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, recognising the star value Kohli brings to the fixture.

Delhi's match against Railways has now become one of the much-talked-about matches as Kohli looks to regain his rhythm and confidence after his lean patch in his recent Test struggles against New Zealand and then Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

With the game scheduled for January 30, all eyes will be on Kohli as he would look to make a memorable return to his roots and lead Delhi to a strong finish in the Ranji Trophy group stage.
