A heated altercation occurred between former Indian cricketers S Sreesanth and Gautam Gambhir during the Legends League Cricket 2023 Eliminator at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium. Sreesanth accused Gambhir of provoking him needlessly and not showing respect to senior players.
Sreesanth, in a post-match statement, criticized Gambhir for using inappropriate language on the field and not respecting his colleagues, including senior players like Virender Sehwag. He claimed that Gambhir's behavior was unacceptable, and he wanted to clear the air about the incident.
Later, Sreesanth went live on Instagram and accused Gambhir of using the 'F' word and calling him a 'fixer,' referring to the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal. Sreesanth stated that Gambhir repeatedly used offensive language during the match.
In response, Gambhir posted an enigmatic note on social media, saying, "Smile when the world is all about attention."
The altercation adds a controversial twist to the Legends League Cricket tournament, with both players expressing their sides of the story.
