After successfully recovering from a back injury and undergoing surgery, Afghanistan's versatile cricketer, Rashid Khan, is overjoyed to return to the cricket field. His absence since the 2023 World Cup deprived him of significant opportunities, including participation in the Big Bash League, the SA20, and Afghanistan's tours against various nations. Unfortunately, he had to sit out of the Test and ODI matches against Ireland as well. Despite joining the team in India earlier this year, Rashid wasn't fit to play.
Expressing his delight through a practice session video shared on Instagram before the upcoming T20Is against Ireland, Rashid conveyed his deep passion for cricket and gratitude to his supporters for their well-wishes. "The cricket field is where I find the utmost joy," he exclaimed in his Instagram post, appreciating the outpouring of support and expressing eagerness for the upcoming matches.
Rashid's performance at the ODI World Cup, where he secured 11 wickets, highlighted his significance as Afghanistan's premier wicket-taker. As the team gears up for the T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies in June, Rashid's swift return to form is crucial for their preparations and aspirations.
The anticipation surrounding Rashid's return extends beyond the international arena. His presence will undoubtedly bolster the Gujarat Titans as they embark on their 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign starting on March 24.
