Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami has recently made his way back to his homeland after a successful surgical procedure on his heel to mend his Achilles tendon in the United Kingdom.
Shami's need for surgery arose following an injury sustained during India's 2023 ODI World Cup venture, and he has been sidelined from cricket since the defeat in the final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19.
Taking to his social media platforms, Shami shared glimpses of his return to India from the UK, expressing gratitude to his supporters for their unwavering encouragement.
"Grateful to be home after the surgery. Feeling resilient and geared up for the upcoming phase. Heartfelt thanks to all for your unyielding support and affection!" Shami conveyed on Instagram.
The pace bowler's absence was palpable as he missed out on the subsequent T20I home series against Australia, as well as the tour of South Africa and the five-match Test series against England.
