Electing to bowl first in overcast conditions, Curran (3/12) was impressive upfront and in death overs while Rashid (2/22) was stunning in the middle overs as England's meticulous planning and tactics, especially in the second half of the innings, meant they never let Pakistan get away at any stage. Both teams were off to a nervy start - Ben Stokes kickstarted the final by bowling England's first no-ball of the tournament. He then bowled a wide down the leg-side and ended up conceding eight runs in the opening over.

Australia will now face either Switzerland or the Czech Republic in Sunday's championship tie. The Swiss and the Czechs play the second semifinal tie, later on Saturday.

Mumbai City found six different goalscorers, three of them coming off the bench, after falling 2-0 behind just past the half-an-hour mark. The Marina Arena erupted in the 19th minute when Petar Sliskovic put the hosts in front. Sangwan's delivery from the corner came off Rahul Bheke before reaching Rahim Ali. The striker lobbed the ball across the face of the goal and Sliskovic headed it in from close range as the Islanders conceded the first goal of the match for the first time this season.

Gill (13 points) was the undoubted star of the day, while Siddharth Desai's (11 points) phenomenal effort came in a losing effort. Even though the Titans, under pressure and lacking confidence, are stuck at the bottom of the table, the early stages of this match-up defied the predictions. Toney was on hand to finish off the winner by the visitors in the 98th minute of the game, with an easy finish on the six-yard line. He had put Brentford ahead in the 19th minute with a trademark powerful header, although Phil Foden's left-foot shot on the stroke of halftime levelled the score, reports Xinhua. Brentford then resisted possession football, with the home side having 74 per cent of the ball, but despite plenty of shots, City were unable to get the ball past David Raya, who will travel to the World Cup with Spain after a very solid display.

The Bengal Warriors and Gujarat Giants played out a neck-and-neck contest in the opening minutes of the match and were locked at 6-6 in the 8th minute. However, Sakthivel R. pulled off a couple of tackle points and helped the Warriors inch ahead at 9-8 in the 11th minute. Deepak Hooda also joined the party as the Bengal side continued to hold the lead at 11-9.
