The BCCI, on July 15, announced that both Pant and training assistant Dayanand Garani had tested positive for Covid-19. The Board said that the young wicketkeeper was already into his eighth day of isolation at the time of announcement. Pant, who has now returned negative test results, had been in isolation for two weeks since testing positive.

Brisbane wins right to host 2032 Olympics

Australia has already hosted the Olympics twice, in Melbourne in 1956 and Sydney in 2000. In 2017, the IOC awarded the 2024 Games to Paris and the 2028 Olympics to Los Angeles, reports Xinhua. In February, 2021, the IOC said that Brisbane was the preferred candidate to host the 2032 Games. However, Qatar reiterated its desire to host the 2032 Games despite the IOC handing the preferred tag to Brisbane.
Only five Top-20 women tennis players not competing in Tokyo

The WTA confirmed on Tuesday that the "The ITF (International Tennis Federation) has published the final entry list. The final entry list has 15 of the WTA Top 20 confirmed for Tokyo, including World No.1 and Wimbledon champion Ashleigh Barty and world No.2 and Australian Open champion Naomi Osaka. The field also features the top nine players on the Porsche Race to Shenzhen."
Formula 1 world unites in condemning racism against Hamilton

"During, and after, yesterday's British Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton was subjected to multiple instances of racist abuse on social media following an in-race collision. Formula 1, The FIA and Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team condemn this behaviour in the strongest possible terms. These people have no place in our sport and we urge that those responsible should be held accountable for their action," read the statement.
