New Zealand scored 161/5 in 20 overs with captain Tom Latham scoring 50 and opener Finn Allen making 41. The 58-run opening stand between Rachin Ravindra (17) and Allen laid the foundation for a competitive New Zealand total. Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam took two wickets but was expensive as he conceded 48 runs.

Old Trafford Test: Indian players refused to play
Captain Virat Kohli is said to have conveyed on behalf of the Indian cricketers that an infection could show up in the next couple of days among the tourists - as the negative Covid-19 test results on the eve of the match were not a guarantee of an infection not germinating. He reportedly suggested to the BCCI officials that the start of the match be postponed by two to three days.
BCCI asks England board to reschedule the final Test
India lead the series 2-1 after four Tests. "In lieu of the strong relationship between BCCI and ECB, the BCCI has offered to ECB a rescheduling of the cancelled Test match. Both the Boards will work towards finding a window to reschedule this Test match," said the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a statement. The BCCI along with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had earlier jointly decided to call off the fifth Test scheduled at Old Trafford in Manchester.

India vs England Manchester Test called off, confirms ECB
The development comes on the back of intense discussions between the Indian cricket board (BCCI) and the ECB after India's assistant physiotherapist Yogesh Parmar returned a positive Covid-19 test on Thursday. It is also learnt that more than one India player had expressed concerns about taking the field in talks between the BCCI and the team management over the last two days.
Paine says Australia not keen on playing Test against Afghanistan
The Test between the men's teams of Australia and Afghanistan looks set to be called off after Afghanistan's newly-installed Taliban government announced its opposition to women from the Islamic nation playing cricket. In a statement released on September 9, Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed it would be unable to proceed with the planned Test at Hobart from November 27 if news reports of Taliban views on the women's game were true.
