IPL 2022 auction: Old teams can retain 4 players; Lucknow, Ahmedabad can get 3 early picks

"The purse for the IPL 2022 auction is likely to be Rs 90 crore (USD 12 million approx), it was Rs 85 crore in the 2021 auction. In the 2018 mega auction, the teams had Rs 80 crore, of which they could spend a maximum of Rs 33 crore on retained players, the teams were then allowed to buy back five players through a combination of retention and two right-to-match (RTM) cards.
Warner says he will go into IPL auction for next season

Warner, who turned 35 on Thursday, said he will definitely go into the auction pool as he does not expect to be retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad and with two new teams coming in next season, it was time to make a fresh start. Warner, who was stripped of the Sunrisers captaincy earlier in the season, said being left out of the squad for the final six games of the UAE leg of IPL 2021 was a "tough pill to swallow".
Quinton de Kock terms it a 'misunderstanding', says ready to take the knee

De Kock had decided to withdraw from the match against West Indies after the Cricket South Africa Board issued a directive asking all players to take the knee before the start of the match. Terming the entire episode as a misunderstanding. de Kock said that he was sorry for "all the hurt, confusion and anger" that his decision has caused. "If me taking a knee helps to educate others. and makes the lives of others better. I am more than happy to do so. I did not in any way mean to disrespect anyone by not playing against West Indies, especially the West Indian team themselves. Maybe some people don't understand that we were just hit with this on Tuesday morning, on the way to a game," de Kock said in a statement on Thursday.
