On Friday, he added another feather to his T20I cap in a match against Afghanistan in Dubai. While scoring 51 off 45 balls in Pakistan's 5-wicket win over Afghanistan in the Super 12 clash, Babar broke India captain Virat Kohli's record to become the fastest skipper to complete 1000 runs in the shortest format of international cricket.

Sindhu, the lone Indian in the fray on the penultimate day of the competition, got off to a good start as she won the first game but could not maintain the momentum as her Japanese opponent came back strongly to win the next two games and seal a place in the final. Hardik Pandya back bowling in the nets; raises hope ahead of New Zealand match

Pandya was seen practicing bowling in the nets on Friday morning in a short video posted by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The video showed India's nets session where Pandya while not bowling at full tilt,  could be spotted rolling his arm over and sending down at least half-a-dozen deliveries.

Aussie spin great Ashley Mallett dies, aged 76

Mallett, who played 38 Tests and nine ODIs in a career spanning 12 years, made his debut against England in 1968 and ended his Test career against the same opponent in 1980. He took 132 wickets at an average of 29.84 in a Test career spanning 12 years. Considered one of the greats of Australian cricket, Mallett holds the best figures for a finger spinner in Australia with 8-59 against Pakistan in Adelaide in 1972.
IPL: Lucknow, Ahmedabad likely to target Warner, Rahul, Iyer and Pandya via draft system

The Lucknow IPL team was bought by RPSG Group for Rs. 7,090 crore, while CVC Capital Partners paid Rs 5,625 cr for the Ahmedabad team. Though it's not official yet, the eight existing IPL teams are likely to retain a maximum of four players and the two new franchises will be able to acquire three players from the rest of the player pool via drafts before the 2022 auction.
