Kohli lifted India to overseas success like no other captain had done: Chappell
Ian Chappell said Kohli's big focus was administering a craving for Test cricket. In January, Kohli stepped down as Test captain just a day after India lost the three-match series 2-1 to South Africa. The 33-year-old finished as India's most successful Test captain, leading the side in 68 Tests, winning 40, losing 17 and drawing 11 matches. Under him, India clinched a historic Test series win over Australia in 2018/19 and led 2-1 in England last year apart from becoming a top-ranked Test side and reaching the final of ICC.
U-19 CWC: India defeat Bangladesh to set up semifinal clash against Australia
Defending champions Bangladesh were no match for the Indian bowlers, especially left-arm pacer Ravi Kumar (3/14) and the reliable left-arm spinner Vicky Ostwal (2/25) as they did not allow the opponents' batters score freely, maintaining a miserly economy rate and bundling them out for 111 in 37.1 overs. In a repeat of the 2020 final, India bowled first and dismissed the Tigers cheaply before their batters chased down the modest target for the loss of five wickets with more than 19 overs to spare.
PKL 8: Delhi decimate Gujarat, move to top of points table
Vijay (8 points) and Neeraj Narwal (4 points) contributed to the raiding points for Delhi, who continued to be without their star raider Naveen Kumar. Gujarat coach Manpreet Singh will have no positives to take from the result with both the defence and attack falling short. Dabang Delhi K.C. started the match on the front foot with their much-maligned defence showing aggressive intent. Captain Joginder Narwal was back in the left corner position and that seemed to have motivated the senior pros in the team.
ISL 2021-22: Kiyan Nassiri's hat-trick leads ATK Mohun Bagan to 3-1 win over SC East Bengal
The win was single-handedly delivered by the youngest ever hat-trick scorer in ISL, Nassiri (64', 90+2, 90+3'), ironically the son of East Bengal legend Jamshid Nassiri. Super-sub Nassiri's goals canceled out the strike from Darren Sidoel (56'), who gave the Red & Gold Brigade a shock lead in the second half.
Irfan Pathan told me 'Apna Time Aayega': Deepak Hooda on ODI Call-up
Hooda did well for Rajasthan in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as well as the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The all-rounder earlier was part of India's squad for the Nidhas Trophy 2018 but he didn't get the chance to make his international debut there. "People wondered and doubts crept in pretty often, but Irfan Bhai always told me one line, Apna time aayega," Hooda was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

The two pairs, in their first-ever doubles face-off on Saturday, held their service throughout the majority of the first set. Kyrgios and Kokkinakis managed to close out the set with a break in the 11th game that lasted six minutes and saw a back and forth over 12 points, followed by a perfect service game.
Lakshya, Malvika to lead Indian team in Badminton Asia Team Championships
"We have been considering domestic tournaments for selection for a while now and selecting players in the top-25 world ranking directly. But with most senior players recovering from Covid and injury, it is a good opportunity for us to give the bench strength opportunities to make their mark in the tournament," BAI secretary Ajay Singhania said in a statement.
Medvedev fined USD12,000 for outburst against chair umpire
"Are you mad? Are you mad? (Tsitsipas') father can coach every point?" Medvedev shouted at Campistol. "Are you stupid? His father can talk every point? His father can talk every point? Answer my question. Will you answer my question? Will you answer my question? Can you answer my question? Can you answer my question, please? Can his father talk every point?"
Ashleigh Barty outplays Danielle Collins to clinch Australian Open title
Top seed Barty overturned a 5-1 deficit in the second set to defeat No, 27 seed Collins 6-3, 7-6(2) in the final, becoming the first home champion at the tournament since Chris O'Neil in 1978. The title is Barty's third Grand Slam crown, and second out of the last three, following Roland Garros 2019 and Wimbledon 2021. The 25-year-old becomes the second active player to claim major titles on all three surfaces.
Mitchell Starc, Ashleigh Gardner receive top Australian cricket awards

The 24-year-old Gardner became the first Indigenous person to win the Belinda Clark Award as the country's leading female player.
