The defeat against the strong opponent meant India missed out on the chance of making it to the semifinal. After Karthik's career-best efforts of 27-ball 55, hitting nine fours and two sixes at a strike-rate of 203.7 apart from sharing a 65-run stand off 33 balls with Hardik Pandya (46 off 31 balls) propelled India to a competitive 169/6, South Africa were never in the chase from the word go, with only three batters reaching double figures and crashed to 87 all out in 16.5 overs.
India U-17 women's team to play Italy and Netherlands
The team, which is camping in Jamshedpur, will play in the 6th Torneo Female Football Tournament in Italy (June 22-26) and Open Nordic Tournament WU16 in Norway (July 1- 7). This will be the first time the team is participating in the Nordic Tournament. India will face Italy on June 22 at the Gradisca d'lsonzo stadium in the 6th Torneo Female Football Tournament. Apart from India, Chile, Italy and Mexico will also participate in the tournament.
Kohli leads Team India's first training session for England Test
The group led by former India skipper Virat Kohli arrived in England on Thursday to kick-off the short tour of England that would involve a white-ball component too. India will lock horns with England for the rescheduled fifth Test at Old Trafford starting on July 1. As the team gears up for the much-awaited game, Kohli is keen on being in the best shape for the match day.
